Exceptional views from the room overlooking the Minho River. Narrow streets leading to the hotel were challenging to navigate.

Our stay was unfortunately marred by several disappointments. The bike storage policy felt downright exploitative, charging an outrageous €7.50 for a small space that barely resembled a garage. Moreover, the lack of basic amenities, such as a functioning TV and serviceable room furnishings, made the experience frustrating. Not to mention, the restaurant's inflated prices paired with underwhelming flavors left us feeling cheated.

I tell ya, the views from our room were just outta this world, lookin’ over that river. The breakfast was top-notch, ’specially loved havin’ it in our room. The folks were real friendly, always checkin’ on us. Some furniture could use a bit of sprucin’ up, though. Don’t forget to grab a cocktail on the terrace—best spot!

Staying here with my family and our two dogs was a delight! The views from our room were fantastic, overlooking the Minho River, and we enjoyed guided cultural tours around the historic citadel. The spacious room with a balcony made our moments relaxing.

My wife says that the dining area could use more kid-friendly options.

The cocktails on the patio were a highlight, as was the attentive staff who ensured our coffee needs were met with patience. However, navigating the narrow streets to reach the hotel was a bit of a challenge, and some furniture in the room felt a bit dated. The hotel breakfast lacked variety, particularly for different dietary preferences, which was a drawback.

When we arrived, they greeted us with a glass of sparkling wine, not a bad way to start the stay. My room had stunning views over the Minho River, and I enjoyed my breakfast outside while soaking in the sights.

The location within the fortress is exceptional, providing stunning views while exploring the historical significance of Valença. Although there were some navigation challenges due to narrow streets, the helpful staff and well-appointed rooms made for a pleasant experience. Some aspects of the dining service could improve, particularly during quieter seasons.

Location inside the fortress was perfect for exploring. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with good WI-FI. Staff was super friendly and helpful, setting the vibe just right (and the views were breathtaking! ).

after visiting valenca before, the pousada was such a lovely surprise. the views from our room were gorgeous, especially at sunset, and we enjoyed having drinks on the terrace. i loved how peaceful it was inside the fortress at night, making our stay unforgettable.

the tv didn’t work during our stay.
